FACES OF DESIRE

I spent an interesting week in New York during the summer of 2022. I just wandered the streets led by my instincts and my curiosity, taking as many photos as I could. I met interesting people that were kind enough to pose for me. The concept behind this collection draws its main inspiration from a powerful German movie written and directed by Wim Wenders in 1987, called Wings of Desire. (The Sky over Berlin). In this film invisible, immortal angels look down from the sky of Berlin and listen to the thoughts of its human inhabitants, comforting the distressed. I fantasized about doing the same. Some people were so expressive that I started imagining their thoughts. Of course there is no way I can be sure of what they were thinking, but I loved hinting at their stories.
